Cloudy Carmel Beach Engagement

As we’re entering the fall season, I find myself missing some cute summer photoshoots. When you think of “summer,” you probably think wild waves, clear blue skies, and the smell of sunscreen. But Jason and Reiley’s cloudy engagement session at Carmel Beach was anything but that, and better!

I went out to Carmel-By-The-Sea in Central California to shoot this cute couple’s engagement session. Cloudy days shouldn’t mean your photoshoot will be gloomy—in fact, the unexpected weather will be a fun story to tell!

Something I always encourage clients to do is bring their fur babies! I absolutely LOVE it when people bring their pets to photoshoots because they’re not only the cutest, but also bring out genuine smiles on the owner’s face. I mean, look how cute Jason and Reiley are with their dachshund! So sweet!

Also, I absolutely love Reiley and Jason’s outfits here. Reiley went with an all white outfit—short dress, white heels, headband, and I thought the see-through gloves were a super cute accessory to tie the outfit together! Jason kept the theme going and wore a white button up, white undershirt, and black slacks. Simple and classy outfits, but they fit the vibe of this engagement shoot so well!

Though we didn’t take pictures all the way down in the water and sands, we still had a lot of fun in the greenery and pathing going around the beach. There was even a field and small bridge nearby! This place is so beautiful, and I’m glad we got to take advantage of it to get these engagement pictures. And as a bonus, Jason proposed to Reiley at this exact spot!!
