Big weddings can be fun… until you realize how expensive and chaotic it can be. The planning, catering, the pressure of being perfect in front of hundreds of people; it can be a bit much. The solution? Have a small wedding. It’s your day, why ruin it and do things that you don’t want to do? Julia and Zach decided to have a small backyard beach elopement in Encinitas, California. They knew what would make them happy on their special day and went for it!
Surrounded by their super close friends and some family, Zach and Julia had their ceremony on a balcony that overlooked the ocean. It wasn’t quite cloudy, but the skies weren’t particularly clear either. Julia came onto the balcony with her gorgeous white cowl neckline slip wedding dress. Zach was waiting in a sky blue suit. I’ve never seen a more happier couple ready and excited to be married!
The newly weds popped open some champagne and then it was off to the beach for some pictures. These two were in their own little happy bubble so it wasn’t too bothersome going to such a crowded beach to some fun pictures.
Afterwards, we came back up to the house for a small outdoor reception. It was simple, sweet, and elegant all wrapped in one. The table was decorated with candles, baby’s breath, and dried orange peels. Everyone all ate dinner together and laughed around the dinner table into the night. There really isn’t a need for a big wedding when you can have this!
